This summer Glitterbox went global. Blowing the roof off Hï Ibiza throughout its biggest and most ambitious season to date, the Glitterbox extravaganza has been taken to unprecedented new heights. Stopping off in Croatia for parties at Defected’s festival in August and Switzerland in September, the world’s most flamboyant party comes home for the winter, hitting its UK hotspot Ministry of Sound on Saturday 9th December, its last date for 2017. Sold out with seven weeks to go before the event, this promises to be a suitably huge send-off for the year.
A firm Glitterbox favourite, a house music maestro and a DJ whose sets are always full of surprises, the one and only Todd Terry headlines Ministry of Sound this December. Having delighted the crowds at Hï Ibiza over the summer with his unique and eclectic blend of pumping house and club classics – along with the occasional curveball – Glitterbox are very pleased to welcome Todd back to rock the house again. Joining him in Ministry’s Box is disco royalty Joey Negro, another artist who always nails a Glitterbox set. Expect to hear Joey’s essential disco edits as well as new material from his album Produced With Love which is out now. Disco royalty and master-craftsman, John Morales returns to the Glitterbox extravaganza, complementing the festivities with his irresistible blend of soulful dance cuts and signature hook-laden remixes. All three artists are Glitterbox mainstays for good reason; each one embodies the spirit of dance music in it truest sense – music that moves your mind, body and soul.
Igniting the party will be the unforgettable Glitterbox dancers performing and joining the crowd to dance throughout the night, so expect more glamour, more jaw-dropping costumes, more confetti and more unforgettable euphoric moments. Soundtracking all of that will be Classic Music Company head and London club legend Luke Solomon, bringing wonky beats and rarities to Glitterbox for the first time at Ministry. Joining him is Melvo Baptiste, presenter of the Glitterbox radio show, with his fine funk and soul pedigree and an enviable collection of rare grooves, promising magical dancefloor moments with plenty of ecstatic disco moments.
Bringing his faithful crew of voguers to join the Glitterbox madness, the incredible Kiddy Smile will be stepping up to DJ in Ministry’s Loft, bringing the sounds of the Paris ballroom scene to the club for a night of endless killer shapes and unstoppable self-expression. After electrifying the dancefloor at Barbarella’s during the Defected Croatia festival, Kiddy and co are a very welcome addition to the programme this December in London.
