Audio, Video, Disco is geproduceerd in de eigen studio van het duo. Het album wordt grotendeels gekenmerkt door het elektronische geluid dat wij van Justice gewend zijn, maar met een progressiever rocktintje. Alle instrumenten die op Audio, Video, Disco te horen zijn hebben Xavier en Gaspard zelf ingespeeld. Aangezien ze het bespelen van enkele instrumenten nog niet beheersten hebben ze dit zichzelf in korte tijd moeten aanleren. Op het album zijn verschillende samenwerkingen te horen. Morgan Phalen van de NY rockers Diamond Nights doet mee op de tracks On’n’On en Newlands, Vincenzi Vendetta van de Australische band Midnight Juggernauts op de track Ohio en de uit Engeland afkomstige popzangeres Ali Love op hun eerste single Civilization.

It is a select group of people that can say they have traveled the world, and an even smaller group will find themselves in a different city almost every night. For Roger Sanchez, it is not uncommon seeing him in 2 or 3 different countries in one week. As Sanchez states, his life has become a series of ‘flashing lights’. As the lights settle Roger finds himself in a new country, in a new club, leading another epic party. Thus Roger’s theme for 2011 ‘flashing lights’, and the debut of his highly anticipated single, “Worldwide” in collaboration with Mobin Master ft. Mc Flipside.

“Worldwide” starts with Roger’s signature percussion, only to dive into a bass-heavy club beat. The song picks up momentum as MC Flipside’s vocals enter creating the songs catchy hook. The lyrics, representative of Roger’s global lifestyle, will no doubt become an anthem chanted at clubs “from Ibiza to Roma, London to Barcelona”. The track is a steady builder, with Mobin Master adding production to lead the track into a frenzy. Buzzing synths keep you on your toes and maintain the high level of energy. “Worldwide” is Roger returning to his club roots, a track that again proves why Roger remains one of the most in-demand DJ’s across the planet.

Adrian Lux & Blende did a marvelous job on the track, using the vocal in a totally different way and Cool Norwegian kid Coucheron did his modern approach on it so expect some peak time madness here. Het idee voor deze compilatie ‘Nachtlab for Japan’ is ontstaan bij Fujiwara Yasuharu, de eigenaar van Wakyo Inc en huurder van een kantoorruimte bij Nachtlab in Amsterdam. Epiqurus Agency is hierbij benaderd door Fujiwara om samen dit initiatief tot leven te brengen.

‘Nachtlab for Japan’ opent met een atmosferische track van ‘Applescal’ en sluit af met een prachtige ambient track van ‘Roger Martinez pres. Horizontal Excursions’. Er tussen in staat het verzamelalbum vol met knallende dance tracks, geproduceerd door Salvador ft Mehmet Bayraktar, Secret Cinema, Applescal, True Identity, Eelke Kleijn, James Nidecker, Paul Sparkes & Mike Seaver, Hitmeister D, Timothy Watt & Farshad Kay, Analog Effect en Charles Davos & Olivier Weiter.

Alle meewerkende partijen hebben hun tijd en diensten kosteloos verleend met het oog op het ondersteunen van dit goede doel. Alle tracks op het album zijn volledige en bovendien originele versies. Het album is gemasterd door Kosmas Epsilon van ‘Epsilon Labs Analog Mastering’, gevestigd in Griekenland. Since the late 80s Ibiza has developed into a meeting place for the discerning hedonist and people who prefer to party on their holidays instead of quarreling with other tourists over sunloungers. From 1999 the Circoloco parties at DC10 have been the a highlight of party life on the island, giving them a legendary status that continues from season to season. Every Monday dressed up people dance the day away to sets from the world’s best DJs, all under the glorious Balearic sun. It’s no wonder the party series is one the most-visited on the white island.

Circoloco residents, DJs Davide Squillace and Matthias Tanzmann, have been integral to the party since 2007, both being big names in the scene for a long time. Tanzmann is the man behind the highly respected Moon Harbour label which he has runfor more than ten years now, and Davide Squillace, as well as releasing on well-known labels such as Ovum, Sci+Tec and Desolat, also stirs up the music world with his labels Minisketch, Titbit Music and the recently founded Hideout.

Davide Squillace and Matthias Tanzmann have known each other and played together for years, their legendary back2back sets at Circoloco parties always causing a furor, most recently in Miami, London and of course at DC10. So it’s no surprise at all that the two were called on to compile and mix “Circoloco @ DC10 Ibiza 2011 – The Next Level”; the perfect accompaniment for the coming summer and the new Circoloco season.

The album features some of the best tech fuelled house around, giving a real snapshot to the sound of Circoloco. Als Terrace is Robbers al jaren een bekende naam en heeft hij een reeks goed ontvangen platen uitgebracht, waaronder de drie full-length albums Round Up, Konnekt en Interesting Times. Naast talloze releases op het befaamde Djax-Up label en de Engelse labels GPR en New Electronica, brengt hij inmiddels het grootste deel van zijn materiaal uit op zijn eigen label, ooit begonnen onder de naam Eevo Lute Muzique en later omgedoopt tot EevoNext Recordings.

Naast het feit dat Robbers een producer is die de verste uithoeken van het muzikale spectrum verkent, is hij ook een getalenteerde live-perfomer. Vooral onder zijn alias Terrace heeft hij een onnavolgbare live show ontwikkeld, die funky en dansbaar is. Hierin heeft hij tracks verwerkt van zijn laatste album Face Infinity en eerdere producties die hij onder zijn eigen naam en aliassen als Florence en R.E.C. heeft uitgebracht.

Face Infinity is een memorabel concept, zeker omdat dit de eerste langspeler na Interesting Times uit 2005 is. Het album straalt meer rust uit, in vergelijking met alles wat hij met Acid Junkies heeft geproduceerd. Liefhebbers van electronische muziek zullen de productie, diversiteit en combinaties van Face Infinity op waarde kunnen schatten.

De basis voor het album is een subtiele muzikale methodiek. Of zoals Robbers uitlegt: “Bij het live bewerken van muziek levert de toevalsfactor vaak bijzondere muzikale momenten op. Door te experimenteren met live dubs hoor je de oneindigheid van de echo’s, de tape delay en verengalmen. Deze aspecten hebben een inspirerende uitwerking. De vrijheid van expressie is duidelijk voelbaar, waardoor er even geen beperkingen zijn, maar juist ruimte voor spontaniteit ontstaat.”

Samenwerkend met componist en sessiemuzikant Fraknoise, heeft Robbers elke track ontwikkeld vanuit een arrangement van instrumenten en instrumentale effecten. De live dubs geven de luisteraar het gevoel er echt bij te zijn, het live mee te maken. Zo lijkt bijvoorbeeld Hohnerkers Delight te zijn opgenomen in een rokerige muziekkelder.

Mooi en melodieus, het is de analoge warmte in combinatie met digitale perfectie dat het beluisteren van het album tot een belevenis maakt. Elke track levert een unieke ervaring op. Luister zelf maar eens naar Anabells Dub en Mijn Stad, met vocalen van Wladimir M.

Het album refereert volgens Robbers aan het begrip oneindigheid. De luisteraar wordt keer op keer verrast. Er is een risico dat zo’n uitvoerend geheel te abstract wordt, of te melodieus. De subtiele lagen zorgen er echter voor dat deze valkuilen worden vermeden. Face Infinity is een plaat die diepte met een doel heeft: het nodigt de luisteraar uit om elke track tot in detail te doorgronden.
