With the Release Yourself opening party at Amnesia only a few days away, New York’s house don Roger Sanchez is all set to turn up the heat! This summer Roger will perform on the famous terrace every Tuesday from 30th June right through to the closing party on 15th September. However, when he’s not in the driving seat of one of his marathon Release Yourself DJ sets, he will be joined on the decks by Stealth all-stars Laidback Luke and Tom Stephan for some mind-bending back-to-back action. Roger touches back down on the White Island armed with a fun new ‘cabaret noir’ theme and some blazing new music and visuals, while Amnesia’s terrace is an even hotter destination following recent renovations. So dive on in… Release Yourself into a clubbing pleasure dome. Leave your troubles at home. And welcome to Release Yourself 2009 at Amnesia Ibiza, the International Dance Music Awards winner of Best Global Club for the last three years running.

2009 is already a remarkable year for Roger with the release of two major mix compilations. These include Roger Sanchez 3D for Renaissance and, most recently, Release Yourself Volume 8 on Roger’s own Stealth label. Stealth has also released a summer scorcher called ‘I Can’t Live Without Music’ by The Transatlatins (aka Roger Sanchez and Ibiza’s DJ Oliver) featuring India, which scored a #1 hit in the DMC Buzz Chart. All the time Roger’s popular Release Yourself radio shows and podcasts continue apace. Now it’s time for Ibiza, and with Release Yourself parties embracing the theme of magic and dark cabaret, you can expect an explosion of super-sensory entertainment, light and dark. Roger has even invited the acclaimed Dutch photographer Erwin Olaf to visualise this year’s scene. Erwin’s previous clients include Diesel, Elle and The New York Times and his Release Yourself photography and the ensuing Release Yourself Vol. 8 artwork has inspired the decor and ambience of the entire night.
Release Yourself kicks off on Tuesday 30th June, on the Amnesia terrace, while Armin van Buuren and his Armada night continue the charge inside. For the opening, Roger will join forces with Superchumbo and ChumboMundo front man, Tom Stephan. (And, so far, only those who experienced the intensity of their joint venture during Miami WMC know what that feels like!) Tom will make two more appearances alongside Roger this season, on 28th July and 1st September, while the Tuesday following the grand opening, 7th July, sees top Dutch dynamo Laidback Luke going head-to-head with the S-Man. Currently on fire with his DJing and productions, Luke also has two other slots lined up, for 11th August and 15th September. So stay tuned this summer as Release Yourself brings the house down, on Amnesia’s almighty terrace!
