After weeks of listening, deliberating and discussing, the first half of the search for the leading creative musical minds in the G-Shock Burlington Project Fresh Blood campaign has come to fruition and the 3 finalists have been announced. Lo*Kee, mumu and Cerca Trova will all be teaming up with Burlington Project and G-Shock to host a series of weekly events at the infamous We Love… Space, Sundays in Ibiza for summer 2010.
Lo*Kee is probably the most talked about and yet most mysterious of parties of recent times. Now becoming one of the worst kept secrets in London’s clubbing underbelly, the Lo*Kee crew have been orchestrating some of the most gritty hedonistic DIY events of the last year. Having started out like all good parties in their home The Candy Factory, Lo*Kee has brought us inner city beaches, homemade bars, sweating ceilings, palm trees, underground warehouses, a ping pong table and a vibe quite unimaginable until its been experienced. It’s simply about having a good time, letting go, surrounded by the right people, in the right space, at the right time and getting lost in the music… Nothing else.
East London basement ravers Cerca Trova have been causing a stir in London with their stripped down, no-nonsense party attitude. An underground rave in the true sense of the word, all they have to say on the subject is “Cerca Trova – seek and you shall find” – a tantalizing five-century-old message which researchers now believe could be a clue to the location of a long-lost Leonardo da Vinci painting. “Cerca Trova” was a hidden message conveyed in his painting that was a clue to find a further masterpiece he created. Cerca Trova emulate this by signifying through their music an intention to fuse quality underground house and techno artists painting a message and bringing together like minded people who share the same passion in life and music.
mUmU was the creation of Liverpudlian, seasoned Ibiza veteran Trevor O Loughlin who took his Balearic experience back to the UK and created something very special in his hometown. A trademark sound of quality house & techno has cultivated a loyal following, and their monthly parties in Liverpool seeing the likes of Rhadoo, Mathias Kaden and Anja Schneider rock clubs, basements, warehouses and terraces, leading to mUmU being voted 5th best UK clubnight 2008 by Mixmag. Recent times have seen mUmU throw itself into regular Sunday socials in London, taking control of the yard at Cargo for some cool daytime, off the radar parties. A number of beach parties will see them spread their wings across Ibiza this summer.
Burlington Project’s Space residency embarks this Sunday 20th June featuring reputable artists including Wolf & Lamb, dOP, Motorcitydrumensemble, Levon Vincent and Mark Henning while also discovering new pioneering figureheads and creative minds in the Fresh Blood campaign. Winners will get to host the Redbox at We Love…Space, Ibiza and collaborate with G-Shock Burlington Project and We Love in their European tours.
To celebrate the G-Shock Burlington Project’s partnership with We Love, Casio are creating a very limited run of unique G-Shock products featuring designs by David Tazzyman. These collaboration watches are a limited edition range of 150 pieces and will only be available at www.welove-music.com and selected Ibizian retailers.
