The last gap in the Time Warp line-up has been closed with Barem. Also the other question marks have slowly but surely disappeared into thin air all except the timetable. Sven Väth will perform his 30-year DJ anniversary with a unique performance while Richie Hawtin gets busy on his 6-hour marathon set. Henrik Schwarz will make a world premiere with his new techno live set which is sure to have everybody talking.
Berlin star Henrik Schwarz, who is usually known more for his deep house tunes, has designed a totally new live act for Time Warp. This new act has him hitting on techno sounds more than we are used to hearing from him. Those who know Henrik’s production skills and musical genius can already surmise the enjoyment of this Time Warp guest at the premiere of “Henrik Schwarz ‘Special Techno Set”.
If you are thinking that the line-up for Time Warp 2011 is complete, you are clearly wrong. Besides the already mentioned participants, several absolute highlights will be waiting on the visitors. There is, for example, Cadenza boss Luciano and Detroit legend Carl Craig, who will perfrom one of their rare Back2Back sets in Mannheim. In the past these were only reserved to visitors of the “Vagabundos” parties. Also, England’s #1 techno export, Carl Cox, is back at the party after a two year break. Laurent Garnier as L.B.S. together with Scan X and Benjamin Ripperton will take over the control of the crowd in the glass pavilion with a live 4-hour hybrid deejay performance. Marco Carola and Nick Curly will do a tour stop in Mannheim: the Italian will present his new album “play it loud!” at Time Warp while Nick has actually chosen the Maimarkthalle as the grand finale of his world tour. But even with that, this year’s line up is still far from being complete. Ricardo Villalobos, Loco Dice, Dubfire, Chris Liebing, Magda, Planetary Assault Systems and SLAM are just some of the names you can look forward to in 2011.
Ofcourse there is not only news from the artist camp. The best light show experts, sound engineers, and VJ’s are already working hard on the master plan that will transform the Maimarkthalle on April 2, 2011 into an audio-visual marvel. Visitors can now get ready for a lot of “Guude Laauuuune” and numerous technological highlights.
Also, our online presence, www.time-warp.de, has changed. Although the web address remained the same, the Time Warp website has a completely new look which has been available since January. In addition to the new look, the site has even more useful features, informative artist profiles, and exciting news about the Time Warp and the electronic music scene.
Foreign visitors to our website can especially look forward to information about hotels, flights, shuttle buses, and train connections. We do not want anything to stand in your way when planning your Time Warp 2011 trip! This year’s Time Warp event will again be a pleasant one because as each year the Time Warp ticket includes a ticket for public transportation throughout the VRN and RMV areas.
With the anticipation for an event just as valuable as the event itself, what remains to be said? There will certainly still be a lot to be talked about and exactly for this reason the Time Warp mystery box closes at this point. You will find answers on April 2, 2011 in the Maimarkthalle in Mannheim.
