ALDA Events can proudly announce being nominated for Best Event Promoter at the upcoming International Dance Music Awards (IDMAs). This prestigious awards ceremony is held annually at the Miami-based Winter Music Conference (WMC) and is considered to be one of the major awards shows within the international dance community.

This is the first nomination for ALDA Events, so here is a bit of background about the company. About ten years ago managing directors Allan Hardenberg and David Lewis worked together in promoting exclusive clubevents in Hollands most important cities Amsterdam and Rotterdam. They learned all there is to know about the business by throwing quality parties in special venues like underground warehouses and cruise ships. The vibe was good between them so the logical next step was an official partnership. In October 2007 they founded their new company, using the first two letters of each of their names to create ALDA. The core business was to promote a series of large new events featuring the world’s No.1 DJ Armin van Buuren – events such as Armin Only and A State Of Trance. The initial events took place in their home country of Holland, but it didn’t take long for the ALDA crew to expand and stage events in countries like Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Lebanon, Poland, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Spain, the United States and Ukraine. Expansion into even more international territories is being negotiated as we speak.

However, ALDA’s events aren’t limited to ones just featuring Armin van Buuren. During the summertime it gets hectic at the ALDA office as a result of the various festivals they’re involved in. One of the non-trance programmed key events is the highly acclaimed Amsterdam-based festival A day at the park, which is a good example of their ‘out of the box’ thinking. With only one large stage and just a couple of famous artists, A day at the park does not top the polls in terms of the size of the line-up, but the festival makes up for this by its creativity, a superb atmosphere on the day and the best looking crowd you can imagine.

Other large ALDA projects are Citymoves, which is an easily accessible street-festival in various Dutch cities, and the indoor events Best Of Both Worlds and Essence. With a new outdoor festival on the way starting in the summer of 2011, alongside the consolidation of the existing events, the future looks bright for ALDA Events.
