Beaming in from the far-flung reaches of the galaxy, Erick Morillo’s Ibiza party theme for 2011 is Subliminal Invasion. As befits one of the biggest nights on the entire island, this particular Invasion shows that Erick’s taste for the theatrical and magical is as wide as the world is round. “For me, it’s all about creating an environment for people to let go in in, somewhere you literally forget about everything else,” says Erick. ”And that’s why the theme is Subliminal Invasion because we want people to invade the night while we
invade your mind!”

This year Erick Morillo will be joined at Pacha by exclusive monthly residents and fellow dance superstars Chuckie and Basement Jaxx as well as Subliminal wingmen Harry Choo Choo Romero, Jose Nunez and the incomparable Shawnee Taylor on live vocal duties throughout the summer season. In addition to the residents, you should also watch out for Felix Da Housecat, Sneaky Sound System, Funkagenda, Azari and III, Antranig, Eddie Thoneick, Richard Grey, Jason Herd and John Dahlback. But be warned: many of these guests will be materializing on planet Subliminal for one night only. “It’s really all about getting lost in space and enjoying the trip,” adds Erick. Lovers of live performance should look out for surprise live appearances from A List guest vocalists throughout the season. A Subliminal Invasion CD will also be released in June.

The initial Invasion concept for the night came together when Erick was preparing for his new live shows at Coachella and at Ultra in Miami. “I wanted to present something universal, something to remind us that we’re all inter-connected. So the mood and the look is all about the beauty of space and what you imagine the cosmos to be. And of course, the music we play really lends itself to that vibe.” Working with two great companies – V Squared Labs in LA and Eugene from Rock Star in London – the visuals and billboards are as spectacular as the music you’ll experience when you arrive on this particular planet. Inevitably, it’s not a world you’ll want to be leaving in a hurry. In addition, this year’s space travelers should look out for the Subliminal Space vixens who will be conjuring up some serious eye candy for your mind, body and soul. As Erick says, “This is an experience you won’t want to miss.”
