For decades now, music… And ‘House’ music, in particular, has given common cause, even becoming a rallying point for people with radically different opinions, backgrounds and perspectives on Life. From its earliest inception house was always about one love and unity: something that conveyed a common sense of togetherness and community. This sentiment is as true and relevant now as it ever was. Hard times have always had people reaching for the dancefloor but even more so now with the inexorable rise of the Internet and the ever-growing reach of social media and the ease of travel, new global communities are being created and music is bringing the world together again!
Ibiza especially continues to be a meeting point for the dance community and is growing ever stronger. This year Defected will celebrate this, so every Saturday during the summer the label shall endeavour to bring everyone together at the world’s ultimate clubbing meeting point, Pacha Ibiza.
From the very beginning of house to the freshest and newest tunes of today Defected Records covers every aspect. The nights are built around quality house and extraordinary DJs, they always have been and always will, they do not jump on the latest bandwagon that might be sweeping through clubland, instead they choose absolutely fundamental artists that will deliver house music in all its various and diverse forms, breadth and styles from disco to electro. It’s all about creating the ultimate Saturday night disco experience in the 21st Century.
The big news is that Defected Records key artist and DJ Bob Sinclar is to host his own nights at Defected In The House this summer. He has promised all the glitz and glamour that has become his trademark, expect added sexiness and a dash of kitsch. Last year his events were sell outs and this time he is upping his game to promise a spectacular experience. Look out for his special Bob Sinclar In The House campaign, the island billboards are as provocative as it gets.
With names like Frankie Knuckles, Dimitri from Paris, Sandy Rivera, the Shapeshifers, David Morales, and Junior Jack and Kid Crème all playing exclusively in Ibiza plus the tried and tested all-star residents you can see why Defected has it all covered.
All this plus a variety of House music’s biggest vocalists doing LIVE PAs, percussion from the resident voodoo warrior Shovell and performances from some of the sexiest and striking dancers in the world, this will be another unforgettable season. One love and unity: it’s a great way to dance.
