This year Carl Cox Global is celebrating its 500th consecutive broadcast and 10th year on air. To mark this incredible milestone, Global will be broadcast live at the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE Festival) as part of a special event sponsored by Awakenings & Safehouse Management at the infamous and iconic Gashouder. Broadcast weekly on many of the world’s leading FM, satellite and digital broadcasters to more than 14 million listeners in over 40 countries, Global is probably the world’s fastest growing electronic music show. And now, Global fans from around the planet can tune in to the first LIVE Global broadcast ever on October 17 from 10:00 – 06:00 (UTC + 1 hour). Joining Carl will be the legendary Fatboy Slim, together with esteemed DJ/Producer Cristian Varela, techno-temptress Nicole Moudaber, and fast- rising new talent and KISS FM DJ, Charlie Hedges.

A global revolution with Carl at the controls
Carl Cox Global is dedicated to showcasing revolutionary tracks spanning a wide variety of electronic music genres as well as featuring Carl’s deep, soulful house and edgy techno style. It has also become the radio frequency for discovering breaking new music, labels and artists on a weekly basis. The four-part, two-hour show kicks off with Carl’s pick of the week, followed by music from one of his favourite labels, a 30-minute guest DJ set and “Going Global”: a one-hour mix from Carl’s international road diary. Including live highlights from Carl’s most important world tours, the biggest international clubs and festivals as well as exclusive coverage of his ongoing summer residency at Space Ibiza. “I play and listen to music all over the world, and Global is my way of indulging myself in my favourite tracks and sharing what I’m passionate about with other dance music lovers around the world,” says Carl. The result is a powerful radio journey personally designed by one of dance music’s most respected DJs. In fact, the DJ Awards team has just announced that Carl has once again been voted as the world’s Number 1 Techno DJ by a panel of electronic dance music experts.

The Revolution goes LIVE from the heart of Amsterdam
ADE is the world’s biggest dance music festival with hundreds of DJ’s and acts performing in Amsterdam’s finest venues, cafés, record stores, lounges and art galleries. In other words, the perfect launchpad for the Carl Cox Global 500 show. The Gashouder, situated in the heart of Amsterdam is also the ideal venue. One of Amsterdam’s most distinctive performance spaces, the renovated, late-19th-century Renaissance gasworks building has an impressive capacity of 3,500 and offers clubbers a unique, colosseum-like party space framed by wrought-iron walls and roofing.

In another Global first, Carl will be joined by special co-host, Charlie Hedges. Charlie is the youngest female breakfast DJ in the UK and one of the most listened-to voices in the UK, broadcasting to over 4 million people every week with the KISS FM breakfast show. Charlie has also been making a name for herself as a club DJ, playing what she calls ‘Electro-House with a twist’. This summer she played the main stage at the HD Festival alongside Fedde le Grand and Pendulum, and Ibiza’s legendary Space alongside Carl Cox and Fatboy Slim to name just a few.

Carl will be chatting on-air with an array of superstar talent from the ADE week – all previous guests on Global over the last decade. And finally, Carl invites listeners to participate in helping him pick their favourite tracks and mixes, sharing their best memories from the last 500 shows. The rest of the programme will be revealed LIVE on air.

One of the event’s two sponsors, Dutch promoter Awakenings, are renowned for their festival, a techno-event that never fails to deliver a strong musical program filled with world-leading acts, showcasing both Dutch talent as well as international names. Awakenings is also known for its spectacular visual experience; praised for their intense laser, light, video and firework shows. The other sponsor is Safehouse Management, the powerhouse behind Carl Cox’s Revolution Nights at Space Ibiza as well as other club and festival events around the world.

The event will be broadcast live via carlcox.com, Facebook and Mixcloud. Global premiered on Mixcloud in early 2011 and now attracts over 15,000 weekly plays, consistently topping their listener charts. This will be the first time Mixcloud have ever broadcast live, making this a true world exclusive. Join Carl as the Revolution goes LIVE, 22:00 – 06:00 on 17 October 2012.
