On Saturday the 22nd of March Animo presents Wolf Music Recordings from the UK! After previous editions at Amsterdam’s hottest venues like Club Up, Doka and Canvas, next up is Studio 80. Get ready for an intimate vibe, with Medlar and brothers Greymatter and KRL as WOLF’s resident producers. As an icing on the cake, this trio is accompanied by label owners Matt & Stu. Surely this night is one to remember beforehand.

WOLF Music Recordings began life in 2009, and was created by two house and disco fanatics who wanted an outlet for their creative endeavors. WOLF has always been about the real HOUSE culture: the music and expressions from day dot to the most modern interpretations. They try to stay true to that aesthetic, whilst being very focused about pushing it forward too.

South London-based producer Medlar is the master of classic keyboard stabs and sultry vocal cuts. He appeared for the first time on WOLF Music in June 2011 with ‘Terrell’, immediately cementing his place as a producer within the record boxes of many of the major players in the deep house scene. In 2012 he continued to release original material exclusively through WOLF, and his demand as a remixer was cemented as well. Expect to see plenty more music on WOLF from Medlar in 2014, with his LP ‘Sleep’ setting the standard.

Greymatter, as mentioned above, is one of the three original ‘resident producers’ of WOLF, alongside his brother KRL and Medlar. His unique take on House music is a summation of a wild range of influences including electronica, jazz, ‘world’, soul, garage, jungle and hip-hop, coupled with a general disinterest in super-clean, overproduced sonics.

KRL has been a core WOLF artist since it’s birth in 2009, only releasing originals with us. Joining as a relative newcomer to house, his tracks are influenced more by classic hip-hop, soul and disco than the dance music he is known for.
