Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel celebrated the start of the 2014 season in style with the first of its iconic daytime parties on Saturday 24 May. Music-lovers and fun-seekers gathered at the hotel-meets-party venue on Playa d’en Bossa for the most anticipated event of the year, where Paul Kalkbrenner, Sasha and Nic Fanciulli were among the renowned DJs spearheading the spectacular line-up with exclusive electronic, techno and house music sessions.

Getting the party started early on Saturday afternoon was German DJ Tapesh, who warmed up the crowd around Ushuaïa’s spectacular pool. He was followed to the stage by a line-up of today’s most exciting music talents, with Los Suruba, Uner, Sasha, Andrea Oliva, Deetron and Nic Fanciulli treating party-goers to a hedonistic musical experience. Paul Kalkbrenner, one of the most acclaimed DJs in Europe, brought the party to a close and rounded off more than twelve hours of non-stop phenomenal music, dancing and entertainment.

Throughout the afternoon and evening, show-stopping performances by symbolic go-go dancers and amazing acrobats added another dimension to the world-class spectacle. Guests gaped in awe at the appearance of a large illuminated puppet that danced in the audience, followed a few hours later by a smaller sibling. One of the most memorable moments of the opening party was during the number ‘Headphones’, when an acrobat was suspended high above the crowd on a giant pair of headphones brandishing the Ushuaïa logo. The finale featured ten go-gos and three acrobats, who made the audience go wild in a shower of confetti and put the finishing touch to a star-studded party that lasted until five in the morning.

Thousands of people from all over Europe flocked to Ibiza’s Playa d’en Bossa for the event and to dance for more than twelve hours to the acclaimed DJs’ sessions. Along with the spectacular staging and outstanding choreography, the Opening Party has once again helped to secure Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel as the top summer holiday destination on the White Isle.
