Cheetah – Marcel Vogel’s Birthday

The best presents are the ones you can share with your friends. On April 10th, Cheetah is celebrating Marcel’s Birthday in Studio 80 and he is taking care of the presents himself. An all-star line-up in the front and in the back that makes you ROAR!

GE-OLOGY, best known for his work with Hip Hop artists like Mos Def, Talib Kweli or Jill Scott,
will release an EP on Theo Parrish’s Sound Signature and a forthcoming release on Ron Trent’s Prescription label this year. GE-OLOGY is a beast behind the decks blending and cutting everything from Disco, to House and Techno.

Jamie 3:26, one of Chicago’s most energetic DJ’s, comes back to Amsterdam to celebrate in style.
With his rework of ‘Hit It n Quit It’, from the Chicago Service Compilation, together with Cratebug, still in everybody’s playlist, his music is a guarantee for soulful dancefloor movement. Having stolen the hearts of many European clubbers, Jamie has decided to move here and keep on going on.

Delfonic, co-owner of Berlin’s OYE records stores and a link between various Berliner labels and nightlife activities. The resident of Gretchen is a stone cold professional who is at home with almost all musical styles. This time he will cater the back room with Hip Hop and Bass music.

Hear Mr Mendel roar while sharing the decks in the backroom with Delfonic. Going back to the roots with a little bit of the hip a hop, and you don’t stop, a rock it. To the bang bang boogie, say, up jump the boogie, to the rhythm of the boogie, the beat.

Marcel will turn 36 on April 11th, so if you wanna be the first to congratulate him, come early!

Aus Music x Studio 80

On April 11th Wil Saul’s label – Aus music – will return to it’s Dutch home base: Studio 80. The label represents a group of international artists, who have put out many releases through the years on the genre-transgressing label. This edition the Brit Marquis Hawkes and label owner Will Saul will represent the unique quality that Aus Music has to offer.

Aus Music, a sister label of Simple Records, was originally founded to provide a platform for experimental electronic music. The diverse sound that is released on the label has spread it’s wings all over Europe’s capitals like Berlin, London and Paris and is recognized as a key player within the current music industry. Many music lovers are following Aus, only that has proven to be a difficult task, as the number of releases is increasing every week.

On the second Saturday of April Marquis Hawkes makes his second appears at Studio 80. In 2014 the combination with Tomorrow Is Now, Kid! turned out to be phenomenal. Label owner Will Saul and Interstellar Funk are also on the line up and in Studio 2 De Nieuwe Garde are taking place behind the decks. Will Saul has played every single Aus Music label night, since the first edition in 2013, with ADE 2014 being an absolute highlight. Opening the night is Interstellar Funk, a familiar face at Studio 80, the man from Rush Hour knew exactly how to get the crowd in motion numerous times throughout 2014. Coming over from The Hague to play Studio 2 is De Nieuwe Garde. In the past years these gentlemen had a lot of gigs all over the Netherlands and on well-known festivals like Lowlands and Strand West.

Old and new faces are welcomed to the night where addicting grooves, intriguing melodies and a healthy dose of dub will surprise the attentive listener.
