The latest issue of the new era Faith fanzine has been unveiled and is available pre-order, featuring a host of H.O.U.S.E all stars and must-know names to celebrate global club culture for summer ’21. Featuring Mercury nominated Irish star Róisín Murphy on the cover, the alt pop icon talks her roots in dance culture, musical influences and readiness to get back on the road following the release of her acclaimed 2021 album Crooked Machine. Speaking to Tracy Kawalik for the epic six-page spread, Róisín expresses desire, regret, and self-knowledge, as well as rehashing her Moloko days and how she overcame self-doubt to become the bona fide star she is today.

“I’ve already been that woman coming out of the darkness and into this familiar but unfamiliar space. For me, I’ve done this before in a sense.”– Róisín Murphy

As ever, Faith gets the inside scoop from the scene with an array of A-list interviews including techno pioneer Dave Clarke, French master Laurent Garnier and Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim. An iconic zine with a rich heritage and irreverent spirit, Faith continues to profile well-known names of dance culture while also championing newer acts, with its summer issue featuring 45 Queen Natasha Diggs, Alabama’s Byron The Aquarius and London rising star Hilit Kolet. Long-read features on Europe’s clubbing landscape, Paul Trouble Anderson’s legacy and Tonka Soundsystem go alongside the regular DJ charts and Faith’s signature in-jokes that garnered its cult following.

“It’s not about money. It’s not about getting one up over other people. It’s about the morally correct thing to do. Plague raves are disgusting.” – Dave Clarke

“I never sold my soul to the devil; I always played the music I love. I haven’t had to make many compromises.” – Laurent Garnier

Faith’s new era under London house institution Defected positions the zine even more so as an authority on the culture, its partnership with Defected leading to a younger audience of dance fans getting educated on all things H.O.U.S.E past, present and future. Faith’s distinct visual identity and character has carried over into Faith 2.0, with its design aesthetic rooted in club culture and tongue-in-cheek humour setting it apart from anything else out there. Since its relaunch in 2020, Faith has re-emerged at the forefront of the dance world, retaining the original ethos of the zine for a new generation of readers. Staying true to its principles, it remains free (excl. P&P) with the summer issue now available to pre-order from the D-Store, and stockists as far and wide as Tokyo, Chicago, Berlin and throughout the UK.

Across 24 print issues between 1999-2012, cover stars of Faith came in the form of Frankie Knuckles, Dennis Ferrer, DJ Harvey, Kerri Chandler, Joe Claussell, Derrick Carter and more recently Honey Dijon, Paul Weller and Danny Tenaglia. In full solidarity, Defected have joined forces with its creators Terry Farley, Stuart Patterson and Dave Jarvis to resurrect the print mag while digitising all past editions. Faith’s crew of in-the-know contributors are the eyes and ears of the scene, dedicated to delivering the must-know knowledge of dance music today.

As well as expanding into a podcast series led by Patterson, Faith deliver monthly radio shows, playlist takeovers plus merch and maybe even a few parties on the horizon.

Keep The Faith.
