KABUL à GoGo, the first community-led Electronic Music and Cultural Hub in the Netherlands, is set for a grand opening with a 56 hour weekender from April 12-14, 2024. Situated at Gietijzerstraat 3, 3534 AV Utrecht, our venue goes beyond traditional club norms, embodying the spirit of diversity in the broadest sense of its meaning.

Founded by Omar Waseq, a visionary who fled from Afghanistan to the Netherlands in his youth, KABUL à GoGo is inspired by the lively pre-war Kabul remembered by his parents. This venue aims to recapture the essence of those vibrant streets where music and dance united people. Waseq’s mission with KABUL à GoGo is to foster liberation, unity, and a profound sense of belonging through an eclectic blend of music, arts, culture, and culinary experiences, experimentation and exploration.

KABUL à GoGo boasts two unique dance floors: Zohal, with a capacity ranging from 650 to 1750, and Abu, offering a more intimate atmosphere for up to 250 guests. The opening weekender will utilise the club’s 24-hour licence. This licence ensures the coming year to be a welcoming space for all, day and night, featuring a food court opening later this year that highlights local and national culinary talents and startups. KABUL à GoGo marks the beginning of a new era in Utrecht’s nightlife and cultural scene.

Conveniently located just a 10-minute bike ride from Utrecht Centraal and less than a 10-minute walk from Utrecht Zuilen station, KABUL à GoGo bridges divides and celebrates unity through a diverse lineup of local, national, and international DJ acts, alongside live music performances. Beyond traditional club nights and the occasional weekender, KABUL à GoGo’s programme will feature a rich array of non-dance programming, including exhibitions, talks, drag shows, workshops, activities and other community-initiated events. Club nights at KABUL à GoGo will be for guests of 21+ and will have a strict no photos and videos policy during events. More information regarding our door policy and house rules will be released on our website before the weekender ticket sales begin.

Central to KABUL à GoGo’s mission is our commitment to being a community-led hub, involving local artists, chefs, and cultural talents in shaping a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. The food court showcases emerging culinary talents, further emphasising the club’s dedication to local culture and innovation.

Technical excellence is a non-negotiable of the KABUL à GoGo experience, with a sound system supplied by Sounddream and a bespoke light installation by Uncloud, both ensuring an incredible auditory and visual club night experience.

Committed to continuous growth and learning, the club is dedicated to evolving with its community through feedback and engagement. KABUL à GoGo aims to regularly invite guests and community members to participate in feedback rounds. These sessions are crucial for understanding how the club can enhance the overall experience, touching on aspects of club life, cultural offerings, safety measures, culinary experiences, and more. Such open dialogues are instrumental in refining and elevating the club’s atmosphere and services. Emphasising our community-driven approach, the club will invite various national and international collectives for collaboration, and always having an open call and suggestion box available for ideas and feedback.

KABUL à GoGo is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive space that honours its community-led ethos. To this end, the club has established an awareness team that will be led by a dedicated awareness coordinator. This team’s role is to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort, addressing any concerns and fostering a respectful, enjoyable environment for all guests. Nevertheless, KABUL à GoGo will not claim to be a safe space until that title is earned.

We look forward to welcoming dancers from Utrecht, the rest of the Netherlands and worldwide to come explore KABUL à GoGo. As the Persian saying goes, ‘Where the heart goes, the legs go’. Yallah, come dance!
