Leading those first wave of names is THE defining voice of pop culture over the past 12 months: Charli xcx. Ushering in a global phenomenon with latest album ‘Brat’, Charli has blazed a trail for the here and now with the sound of summer becoming a calling card for a new generation. Bursting with club bangers, scooping multiple Grammy nominations and leading to one of the most unstoppable live shows of the year – the internet-breaking icon comes to Flow Festival Helsinki in 2025 for an unmissable celebration of an era’s already most influential names.
Equally pushing against the boundaries of preconception and sitting as one of the planet’s true bands of the moment, Fontaines D.C come to Helsinki with a live show that breathes new life into what a band can be. Following the release of latest album ‘Romance’, they’ve marked their place as one of this generation’s true trailblazers – with cuts like ‘Starburster’, ‘Favourite’ and ‘In The Modern World’ all taking the Irish five-piece to new levels. Set to spin Flow Festival Helsinki into a sun-kissed vibe is Khruangbin whose critically-acclaimed catalogue has set them apart as a band capturing emotion at its core and running with it – whilst the electronic pulses of Bicep arrive in Finland next year – celebrating a duo who have become a beacon for a whole wave of electronic culture by bringing their Chroma AV/DJ show to the Finnish capital. Continuing the rich history of electronic programming at Flow Festival Helsinki which pulls in some of the most influential and exciting names across European club culture all into one unforgettable weekend, the likes of Joy Orbison and Avalon Emerson are also announced today with many more to come.
An iconic voice within alternative music history, Beth Gibbons arrives at Flow Festival Helsinki 2025 with a special spellbinding set that marks the celebrated return of a musical great. Renowned as the voice of one of the most influential bands of all time – Portishead – her emotional and enigmatic new album ‘Lives Outgrown’ welcomes the return of a true great, and a can’t-miss live show at Flow this year. Also unmissable is blistering rap trio Kneecap, who have taken the globe by storm for the fiery blend of socialpolitical rave-rap that has seen them take on the biggest stages and the biggest movie screens over the past 12 months. With US favourite Montell Fish, Swedish pop sensation Veronica Maggio, electronic duo Autechre and more unveiled in this first batch of names – it ensures Flow Festival Helsinki continues to showcase why it is revered as a European festival gem and hub of critically-acclaimed voices.
Whilst welcoming names from around the globe, Flow Festival Helsinki also sits as the perfect showcase for the broad and invigorating artists coming from Finland itself with their own distinct path. pehmoaino will bring her special concert titled Sätkynukkekoti to Flow for their only festival gig of the summer.Bursting with personality, Finnish hip-hop leader Sexmane returns to Flow Festival Helsinki following a landmark appearance in 2023 whilst the beloved band Pariisin kevät, known for their heart-wrenching songs, will bring their exciting new chapter to the festival. Whether it’s the eclectic forerunner of Finnish rap Melo, the prog rock stylings of Saimaa, the returning Regina who will be performing their celebrated album ‘Soita mulle’ in its entirety following a long live hiatus or DJ Ibusal, Emma & Matilda and Good Boys all announced today with many more to be revealed.
