With anticipation at an all-time high, [UNVRS] is just over a week away from opening its doors to the public for the very first time. To mark the moment, the next-gen Ibiza venue reveals a cinematic film that stretches across borders and traditions – embodying [UNVRS]’s ethos of celebration, artistic exploration, and storytelling beyond the dancefloor. The film follows an asteroid that travels through iconic global locations, Tokyo, Rio, New York and many others, not as a harbinger of disaster, but a thread weaving together moments of meaning across the world.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Michael Lawrence and produced by Dissidence Production, the piece was filmed over 35 days across 8 countries and 16 distinct regions. From Carnival in Rio de Janeiro and the center of Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo, to full moon parties in Thailand, the journey spans vast geographies and emotional terrain to capture the heartbeat of global nightlife and human gathering. Executive producers Charles Portier and Antoine Fritsch supported the project’s expansive scope.
Rather than focusing on the venue itself, the film explores the universal feeling behind nightlife — raw energy, unfiltered freedom, and nights that live forever in memory. Unscripted and instinctive, the team followed authenticity, chasing spontaneous moments with incredible local souls. From cartel parties in Colombia and armed dancers in Rocinha, to jungle raves and fireworks at sea, each twist in the journey brought something extraordinary. Timed with major local festivals, the story evolved on the ground — diving beyond landmarks to uncover hidden corners and underrepresented voices.
To take the project beyond the screen, [UNVRS] teamed up with global creators to bring the film’s asteroid into real life — a surreal, playful presence captured in cities from Seville to Los Angeles. More than a promo, it reflects [UNVRS]’s commitment to joy, community, and going the extra mile for culture that brings people together.
As Ibiza prepares for the grand Opening on Friday 30 May 2025, [UNVRS] stands ready to usher in a new chapter. Conceived by Yann Pissenem and The Night League — the creative force behind Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza — [UNVRS] is a venue on an unprecedented scale. With its custom-engineered L-Acoustics sound system, immersive spaces, and boundary-pushing design, it offers a fresh way to experience music, movement, and connection.
