Global house music icon Chris Lake has officially unveiled his long-awaited debut album Chemistry, released independently today via his own Black Book Records label. The 15-track collection represents a defiant artistic statement, a culmination of two decades of club culture influence, tireless creativity, and an obsession with making people dance.

Chemistry arrives as a masterclass in contemporary house music, woven together by Lake’s unmistakable production style and keen sense for the dancefloor. Featuring previously released fan favorites like the captivating Savana – which hit Spotify’s Viral Charts in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand – and the heavy-hitting Psycho, alongside Ease My Mind, which has amassed over 20 million streams and topped the ARIA Club Charts, the album underscores Lake’s ability to blend underground sensibilities with global impact. Also featured is the brand-new single Falling, a standout collaboration with Grammy-nominated electronic pioneer Bonobo, written by HAYLA, one of the most compelling singer-songwriters in electronic music. The album draws inspiration from Lake’s British roots, with high-paced percussion reminiscent of garage driving the tracks ever forward. Notably, Falling took over 10 versions to finalize – a testament to Lake’s meticulous approach and refusal to compromise on creative quality.

“I’ve been at this for over 20 years at this point, so it’s about time we added an album to the discography.” Chris Lake jokes. “I’m really proud of this collection of tracks. I wanted to create something cohesive that still allowed each track to live in its own world, and doing it on my own terms, through Black Book Records made that vision possible. There’s no label influence here – it’s entirely self-funded and independently released. Releasing my debut record on my own label is scary yet so incredibly rewarding. It’s like two decades of work all come together on this release.”

With 13 of the 15 tracks created in studio collaborations, Lake approached the process with deliberate intent – selecting artists not for their streaming metrics, but for creative chemistry. The album also includes deeply personal contributions, including a feature by his wife Aatig and a long-awaited reunion with Alexis Roberts, marking her return to music following a multi-year hiatus. Lake and Roberts are no strangers to working together, having previously collaborated on the monster hit Turn Off The Lights.

The months of anticipation leading up to the release of Chemistry have been punctuated by landmark moments, including Lake’s historic Coachella Campgrounds takeover, where he became the first artist to ever perform on the Thursday before the festival’s official start. More recently, Lake embarked on a globe-spanning run of shows in support of the album. From landmark performances Down Under at FISHER’s Out 2 Lunch Festival and a surprise pop-up in Sydney to selling out massive shows in the United States, including an upcoming takeover of Brooklyn Storehouse on July 11th and 12th to celebrate the album release, with both shows now fully sold out, and his biggest headline show in San Diego to date. On 30 August, Lake will be hosting his first ever show at Red Rocks in Denver. No matter where he goes, Chris Lake continues to bring the world of Chemistry to life in real-time.

Earlier this week, Chris Lake announced his Chemistry Album Tour, which will see him hit 13 venues across the United States this fall. The upcoming tour is set to bring the album experience to life with custom production, exclusive edits, and extended sets that reflect the full creative depth of the record. In partnership with PLUS1, $1 from every ticket sold will go to support Oceanic Global and their mission to reconnect humanity to the ocean and restore balance to our blue planet.

From euphoric vocal house anthems to late-night club weapons, Chemistry captures every shade of Chris Lake’s musical identity. Unusually, many of the tracks were unreleased prior to the album drop—an intentional move that breaks from Lake’s norm of road-testing tracks live, signaling a creative shift in both process and performance strategy. It’s a body of work that exists in the space between underground culture and mainstream appeal, not designed to chase trends, but to leave a mark.

“I hope Chemistry draws more people into the deeper side of dance music,” Lake shares. “There’s a vulnerability in putting this out there, but that’s where the real connection happens. I’d love to see more full-length albums coming out of this space, and I want to help that grow.”

With Chemistry, Chris Lake opens the next chapter of his career—on his own terms, with his own label, and with a creative confidence that makes this debut anything but ordinary. The album is out today, July 11th 2025 via Black Book Records. Listen to the album now via this link.
