Global house music icon Chris Lake is in the midst of his most defining year to date. With the release of his long-awaited debut album Chemistry, a run of high-profile collaborations with artists including Skrillex, Disclosure, and Sammy Virji, an official remix for The Chemical Brothers, and a sold-out global tour, 2025 has solidified Lake’s position as one of the most innovative and influential forces in electronic music. The year also saw him engage directly with fans and the next generation of music professionals, including a Q&A at Harvard University during his Boston stop, and he extended his second night at Roadrunner, turning his two-night Boston engagement into a full-on celebration of his music.
Released in July on his own Black Book Records, Chemistry made an immediate impact, debuting at #13 on Billboard’s Electronic Album Chart, breaking into Spotify’s Top 10 Debut Albums Globally and in the U.S., hitting #1 on Beatport, and claiming the #1 spot on Apple Music’s Dance Album Chart. Entirely self-funded and independently released, the album is a testament to Chris Lake’s vision, artistry, and determination to do things on his own terms.
The album’s name pays a tribute to the Chemistry Chris Lake had with the collaborators, out of its 15 tracks, 12 were created alongside handpicked artists. Highlights include Ease My Mind with Abel Balder, Falling with Bonobo featuring Alexis Roberts, and a personal contribution from Chris Lake’s wife, Aatig. His reunion with Alexis Roberts, who famously featured on Turn Off The Lights, has been met with critical and fan acclaim alike.
Collaboration has been the heartbeat of Chris Lake’s 2025. He joined forces with Skrillex on La Noche and Disclosure on one2three, as well as reunited with Sammy Virji and Atrip on new material following their summer anthem Summertime Blues. Beyond his solo releases, Chris Lake has been prolific with his side project Anti Up, alongside Chris Lorenzo, performing at Portola Festival and delivering high-energy sets that have gained critical acclaim in the bass-driven house scene. He also delivered the official 20th Anniversary Remix of The Chemical Brothers’ Galvanize, underscoring his influence and longevity in the global dance music community.
2025 has also seen Chris Lake engage directly with his fanbase through weekly Twitch and YouTube streams, where he shares production tips, demo listening sessions, and hosts guests such as Chris Lorenzo, Disclosure, Bonobo, Sammy Virji, MPH, Dillon Francis, and more. These streams cultivate a community of fans while providing a behind-the-scenes look at Chris’ creative process. Adding a touch of playful spontaneity, he even participated in Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 3, performing a private set in the streamer’s bathroom.
Chris Lake has also earned a GRAMMY® nomination for his official remix of The Chemical Brothers’ Galvanize in the Best Remixed Recording category. The nomination marks his second career nod and underscores his continued impact across the global dance landscape. The remix, released to celebrate the track’s 20th anniversary, has been praised for its balance of reverence and reinvention, a testament to Chris’ ability to honor dance music’s legacy while pushing it forward.
“I’ve been at this for over two decades, and 2025 has reminded me why I fell in love with this in the first place.” says Chris “It’s not just about one track or one show but about building something that lasts, pushing myself creatively, and proving that independence can still lead to the biggest stages. This year has been the clearest sign yet that if you stay true to your vision, the rest will follow.”
Chris Lake is currently on the road with his Chemistry Album Tour, which includes headline shows across the U.S., U.K., and Europe. Some of the highlights so far are sold-out nights at Brooklyn Storehouse, KOKO London and Red Rocks in Denver, and he is coming to San Francisco, Dallas and Toronto among many other shows. Through his partnership with PLUS1, $1 from every ticket sold is being donated to Oceanic Global in support of ocean conservation.
