Wolfkop Weekender announces 2027 return with Deer Jade, Parallele, Un*Deux and Fabian Krooss.

Returning to the Cederberg from 14–18 January 2027, Wolfkop Weekender brings together electronic music, nature and community for five days of connection, discovery and summer escapism.

Wolfkop Weekender is set to return to the spectacular Cederberg mountains from 14–18 January 2027, with Deer Jade, Parallele, Un*Deux and Fabian Krooss leading the first artist announcement, alongside a full local lineup still to be revealed.

Known for its unique blend of music, natural beauty and community, Wolfkop offers an alternative to the traditional festival experience. Set against the backdrop of the Cederberg, the Weekender invites guests to slow down, reconnect with nature and discover a different kind of festival — one where swimming in the river, sharing meals with friends and dancing beneath the stars are equally important parts of the experience.

For founder Werner Röntgen, Wolfkop has always been about more than music. Since its beginnings as an intimate gathering of just 60 friends in December 2012, the festival has grown into a much-loved destination for those seeking a more immersive and connected experience.

“We’ve shown that a festival can run without sponsorship and brand names scattered all over the site and that it’s about more than music,” says Röntgen. “It’s the river, mountains, food, accommodation, activities and, most importantly, the feeling of being part of a collective.”

The 2027 edition continues this philosophy, with an emphasis on carefully curated music, wellbeing and the freedom to experience the festival at your own pace. From energetic dancefloor moments after sunset to relaxed days spent floating down the river, Wolfkop offers space for both celebration and complete tranquillity.

The newly announced artists set the tone for a weekend of electronic music and discovery, with more names and experiences expected to follow. Wolfkop is also exploring new spaces and unexpected moments for 2027, encouraging guests to discover experiences beyond the main programme.

Beyond the music, the festival remains committed to protecting its extraordinary natural surroundings, supporting small businesses and creating a positive impact through upliftment, diversity and inclusion. Its approach is rooted in the belief that growth should never come at the expense of the environment or the intimate atmosphere that makes Wolfkop special.

The festival’s journey has not been without challenges, including COVID and three major floods. Through these setbacks, the loyalty of its community and the support of its partners have helped Wolfkop rebuild and continue to evolve.

Looking ahead, Röntgen hopes the festival’s legacy will be measured not by attendance figures, but by the memories people take home.

“I hope they remember new connections, a sense of release and moments such as swimming in the river, dancing barefoot, meeting lifelong friends, waking up among the Cederberg mountains or sharing a meal around a fire.”

With its 2027 return on the horizon, Wolfkop Weekender invites festivalgoers to trade the ordinary for something more meaningful: five days of music, nature and connection in one of South Africa’s most remarkable landscapes.
