The Grandvalira (Andorra) venue hosts its pre-opening on 28 November, kicking off an anniversary season with ANTS, the Ushuaïa Ibiza party, as the major new addition to its programme; the return of Brunch Electronik and Bresh; and names such as Paco Osuna, Andrea Oliva, Hector Couto and Anna Tur.
L’Abarset turns 15. Located in El Tarter, at the foot of the slopes in Grandvalira (Andorra), it returns on 28 November with a pre-opening. It marks the start of a season that runs until 28 March and honours the history of a place that has taken international electronic music to the top of the Pyrenees.
What began as an après-ski bar beside the El Tarter car park took a leap forward in the 2021-22 season. The new building, designed to blend into its surroundings, introduced a fresh vision that raised après-ski parties to another level: a space that combines music, dining and mountain scenery and hosts an increasingly ambitious artistic programme. Today, L’Abarset welcomes more than 100,000 visitors each year, and its booth has hosted artists such as Claptone, Fatboy Slim, Marco Carola, Hernán Cattáneo, John Digweed, Adam Beyer, Nina Kraviz and Damian Lazarus.
“Fifteen years ago, we wanted to bring two worlds together: après-ski and the energy of the great open-air festivals, carrying that atmosphere up the mountain with the hospitality and identity of our land. It was the public who took that idea much further than we had ever imagined. Turning 15 is the best starting point to keep dreaming”, says Àlex Orúe, Director of Hospitality and Corporate at L’Abarset.
It has become a benchmark for après-ski in Europe and a destination in its own right for those who choose Andorra in winter. The day begins with lunch at the restaurant, continues with après-ski on the terrace overlooking the slopes and, on selected dates, carries on indoors with “L’After”.
This year’s highlight is the arrival of ANTS, which will take over the official opening on 5 December. Also back are Brunch Electronik, with six dates, and Bresh, with five. The 15th anniversary will have its own weekend, from 5 to 7 February, with après-ski celebrations inspired by the early days and a commemorative merchandise collection sold exclusively on site. L’Abarset is also launching its own midweek party dedicated to urban sounds.
