Blume Summer Camp is a new family festival from Hideout Festival co-founder Dan Blackledge and musician and creative director Molly Blackledge. It will bring music, culture and craft into the wild when it debuts from 6–8 August 2027 at Stapleford Estate in Leicestershire and Rutland.
The festival is created for a generation of parents who grew up going to clubs and festivals. Blume brings those experiences into the countryside, with a programme for children and grown-ups alike. Kids have adventures of their own, and parents can enjoy the things they loved long before the little ones arrived.
The site is set among woodland and open parkland, connected by the estate’s own miniature railway. Blume brings together live music and DJs, nature, craft, growing, movement, outdoor cooking and camping.
Dan Blackledge, co-founder of Blume Summer Camp, says:
“We spent a few years searching for the right site, all over the world, and ended up finding it in our own backyard in Rutland. The landscape really inspired Blume, along with our desire to spend more time outside, with the kids and without them.
We want more music, more growing, gardening and cooking over fire with mates around. More making things with our hands, less rushing around, and enough space for the kids to find the magic that’s already there.”
The first artists announced are Erol Alkan, Luke Una, Jamz Supernova, Auntie Flo, Daudi Matsiko and Alice Boyd, with more names to follow. Headliners are programmed early, bringing big musical moments into family-friendly hours without losing the energy of a proper festival.
Blume’s soundtrack is rooted in the club and festival culture of the 2000s and 2010s. It moves between house, disco, Balearic, folk, jazz and ambient across three music spaces, from morning sessions in the woods and coffee raves to live performances and folk around the fire. The Listening Lounge offers somewhere to flick through vinyl and introduce the kids to your favourite records. It also hosts conversations, intimate performances and late-night sets.
The Potting Shed is curated by Mitch McCulloch (Mitch Grows, The Seed Hunter). It offers hands-on growing and gardening alongside Gaz Oakley, Garden of Moths. A nature-inspired soundtrack includes Plants Can Dance from Auntie Flo and performances by Alice Boyd.
Spiritlab brings together wellness, movement, sound and contrast therapy, curated with Annie Clarke and two-time world freerunning champion Tim Shieff. The programme includes breathwork from Stuart Sandeman (Breathpod), wood-fired saunas and cold plunges from Stamford Sauna Club, hot tubs, yoga and movement for adults and kids.
Base Camp is curated with Henry Brydon of Outside Kids and dedicated to outdoor adventures. Activities range from den building, fire skills and knots to stone skimming, birding, marshmallow roasting and an adventure passport for children to explore the site.
Forgotten Arts brings foraging, navigation, spoon whittling, basket weaving and natural dyeing. Notswolds curates the craft programme alongside contributors including Axe & Paddle.
Rebel Book Club will programme authors, conversations and campfire stories across Base Camp and the Potting Shed.
Food at Blume is rooted in fire, seasonality and the outdoors, with feasts and brunches using local produce. Fire-cooking specialist Genevieve Taylor and Gaz Oakley will run live cooking workshops. A kids’ cookery school is included in the ticket, alongside food traders, coffee from first light, wine, cold beer and cocktails.
Children’s sessions will run throughout the day and evening. This gives parents time to catch a DJ, head to a class, visit the sauna or spend an hour with friends. Blume will even supply printed permission slips for parents to give each other a little time out.
Molly Blackledge, co-founder and creative director, says:
“Blume brings together the music we love and the outdoor culture we want more of in our lives. We haven’t got it all figured out, far from it. This is our attempt to make a little more space for those things. Maybe other families want a bit more of them too.”
Early Bird tickets go on sale Tuesday 17 November 2026. People who register at blumesummer.camp get first access. Tickets start from £210 for adults, £84 for children and free for under-fours.
