For over three decades, Michel de Hey has stood at the heart of Dutch electronic music. A constant presence within the country’s house landscape, he now returns to Haven Trax following 2025’s ‘Dreamin’ EP, not only marking the label’s first repeat artist but also deepening his longstanding relationship with Thuishaven as he links up with four emerging Netherlands-based talents: Job de Jong, Litmus, Boss Priester and Marijn Jansen. Having performed at some of the world’s most revered clubs and festivals and released on labels such as PIV Records, Factory 93, Rejected and House Puff, as well as his own vinyl-only imprints Future Feel and In The Future, Michel’s career has been defined by a commitment to pushing things forward. Arriving on 10th July, ‘Link Up’ channels that spirit into a four-track collaborative EP, pairing one of Dutch house music’s most enduring names with some of its most exciting new voices.
Opening the EP, Michel joins forces with Job de Jong, whose blend of 90s house influences shines through ‘Get On Up’, a bumping cut fuelled by rolling low-end pressure and uplifting vocal hooks. Next, Sydney-via-Amsterdam producer Litmus arrives on ‘Do What You Like’, where growling bass tones, skippy rhythms, and lush organ arpeggios combine for a groove that unfolds effortlessly. On the B-Side, ‘Rushmore’ sees Boss Priester return to Haven Trax following his ‘Sleep In Tisno’ EP, delivering a robotic funk workout where punchy drums and a heavy bass groove drive the track forward. Closing the EP is ‘How Does It Feel’ alongside Michel’s Kweekvijver award recipient Marijn Jansen, a captivating cut that blends cosmic UKG influences, warm piano chords, and hazy atmospherics into a laid-back groove, bringing the release to a seamless close.
