There are albums designed to fit neatly into a genre. Then there are albums like PZDC — records that kick the door off its hinges, throw the rulebook in the bin and invite you to figure out what happens next.
On 2nd October, Russian electronic act Locked Club return with their most expansive statement yet, PZDC LP, landing on the boundary-pushing ONES and ZEROS label from Boys Noize. A restless collision of techno, electro, industrial pressure, rave energy and outright sonic mischief, the album feels less like a collection of tracks and more like a transmission from an alternate club universe.
Across its sprawling tracklist, Locked Club construct a world where distorted machines, warped synths, brutal rhythms and twisted vocal moments exist in a state of beautiful disorder. The production constantly shifts shape — one moment pounding with warehouse intensity, the next veering into strange, playful and unpredictable territory.
The album features an equally unruly cast of collaborators, including Boys Noize, Cardopusher, MC Marie, RLGN, Hespermen and Any Act, adding further layers of attitude and sonic personality to the record. Among the highlights are “Vcidfutur3” featuring Boys Noize, “Klass” featuring Cardopusher, “Pizdec” featuring MC Marie and multiple appearances from RLGN.
But for all its chaos, PZDC is never without direction. Locked Club understand the fundamental purpose of underground electronic music: movement. Every strange sound, broken rhythm and blown-out texture ultimately feeds back into the dancefloor.
The result is an album that refuses to behave.
From the ominous tension of “Lesh” and the abrasive energy of “Alcoholic”, through the twisted futurism of “Vcidfutur3” and the darker atmospherics of “Pizdec”, the record constantly keeps the listener guessing. Later cuts such as “Living This Shit”, “Fóllame En Dex”, “Madafug”, “Ya Ebal”, “Phone Trouble” and “America” push the album even further into Locked Club’s strange and uncompromising territory.
And that’s precisely what makes PZDC so compelling.
This isn’t music designed to sit politely in the background. It’s physical, confrontational, playful and occasionally downright unhinged — an album built for dark rooms, malfunctioning strobes, packed dancefloors and the moments when the night stops making sense.
With PZDC, Locked Club don’t simply deliver another electronic album. They create their own set of rules — then gleefully break every single one.
