During this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), Dutch electronic music platform Audio Obscura is joining forces with international humanitarian organisation War Child for an ambitious fundraising initiative. Under the title Audio Obscura presents 100 hours for War Child, DJs from across the electronic music scene will take turns behind the decks in a continuous, 100-hour music marathon, raising funds to support children affected by armed conflict around the world. The initiative takes place at Fosbury & Sons in Amsterdam from Wednesday, October 21, to Sunday, October 25, 2026.

Bringing together artists from across the international electronic music scene, the initiative transforms five days of uninterrupted music into a collective fundraising effort. Participating DJs will take turns behind the decks, keeping the music going throughout the 100-hour marathon. The entire marathon will be broadcast live on YouTube, allowing audiences around the world to follow the performances and make donations directly through the campaign website or donation widget. The event will not be open to the public.

The collaboration draws on the shared belief that music can bring people together and provide a space for connection, expression and community. These values are particularly relevant to War Child, whose work began more than 30 years ago with music workshops for children sheltering from the war in Bosnia. Today, creative activities including music, play and sport remain an important part of the organisation’s approach to supporting children affected by conflict.

By bringing DJs from across the international electronic music scene together during one of the world’s most influential gatherings for electronic music, Audio Obscura and War Child Netherlands aim to mobilise the international dance music community around a cause that extends far beyond the dancefloor. Funds raised through the initiative will support War Child’s programmes providing mental health and psychosocial support, education and protection to children living with the consequences of war.

“Electronic music has always been about bringing people together, regardless of where they come from. During ADE, our entire international community comes together in Amsterdam, and we wanted to use that collective energy for something that goes beyond music itself. Through 100 hours of continuous music, with DJs coming together in support of War Child, we hope to show what this community can achieve when we unite behind a shared cause. We’re proud to be doing this alongside War Child.” – Jeroen Fontein, Audio Obscura

“Music has been part of War Child’s story from the very beginning. More than 30 years ago, we started with music workshops for children sheltering from the war in Bosnia, creating moments where they could express themselves and simply be children again. Today, millions of children are still growing up surrounded by conflict. Initiatives like 100 HOURS help us reach more of them with the support, protection and opportunities they need to recover and rebuild their lives. We’re grateful to Audio Obscura and the artists who are using their platform to make a difference.” – Ernst Suur, Managing Director War Child Netherlands

Electronic music beyond the dancefloor

Known for bringing electronic music into unconventional and culturally significant spaces, Audio Obscura has built an international reputation for projects that challenge traditional boundaries between music, art and public space. Previous productions include events in the IJpassage at Amsterdam Central Station and the Highway Rave, which transformed part of Amsterdam’s A10 motorway into a dancefloor during the city’s 750th anniversary celebrations.

During ADE 2026, Audio Obscura continues to explore the cultural significance of electronic music through several projects, including the premiere of a new artistic interpretation of Rembrandt’s The Night Watch by electronic music pioneer Jeff Mills at the Rijksmuseum. Created in dialogue with the painting, the film combines Mills’ music with a performance by dancer Sophie Boursier. Alongside the artistic collaboration, Audio Obscura will host electronic music events at RAWFACTORY and The Loft, further showcasing its distinctive approach to bringing electronic music to unconventional spaces across Amsterdam.

With 100 HOURS, Audio Obscura extends this approach beyond artistic programming, using its platform and international network to bring the electronic music community together in support of War Child.
